Blog Two... Art in the Garden

A very enjoyable day although we could have done with a few more 'artists' .  Perhaps people were worried about their competence but there was no need for this. Our painters from Saturday ranged from 12 to 80 + !!

This sketch above was quickly splashed down by our Brummie representative and below is the The Great Group Zentangle organised by Pernille (P).

This work was over 2 metres long and completed by everyone and anyone who was there. Basically just a GROUP DOODLE but incredibly dramatic. Many thanks to P and for her enthusiasm and for more information see her on FaceBook Pernille Christensen / PassionArt

And to illustrate the difficulty in assessing art (which reminds me of an essay I was asked to write back, way back, for my summer holiday homework in the early 70's, " What are the criteria for ' Goodness ' in Art ") see below a work by Jackson Pollock:

  ' No. 5, 1948 ' by Jackson Pollock and valued ........wait for it ....... at a mere £100 million + ..... Yes £100 MILLION

 ' No. 5, 1948 ' by Jackson Pollock and valued ........wait for it ....... at a mere £100 million + ..... Yes £100 MILLION

So, I think there is a potential artist in us all and meanwhile I'm going to search out my oils, my brushes and my canvases.
